This asset was scanned on location at the historic Guido Coal Mine. I captured this and several other assets directly inside the mine environment.
For the model presented here, I was not able to remove the structural beams surrounding the cart during scanning. Instead of reconstructing the missing areas artificially, I decided to scan the asset together with the beams to preserve full environmental authenticity.
The model was generated using RealityCapture.
After processing the scan, I prepared the asset for the Megascans / Quixel / Epic Games library pipeline.
During post-processing:
I separated the beams from the mining cart
Reconstructed and refined overlapping geometry
Sculpted and cleaned up scan imperfections
Reworked and texture-painted intersecting areas
Created clean UVs
Generated all required texture maps
The asset is now available for free on Fab in two versions: with and without beams.
There is also another scanned and processed trolley example (also available on FAB for free)
